Time to Make a Change

So, as noted in my last post, some things in my life has to change. One of the ones I need more effort than others is being healthy and losing weight. Therefore I made a separate list just for that. The list is a set of daily activities I need to be able to do everyday. Here it is...
Goal: To feel physically in shape, feel healthier, lose weight (xlbs), and look as I desire.
1. 20 push ups
2. 30 sit ups
3. 50 jumping jacks
4. Do the above steps twice daily
5. Gym: 1hr 15min, 4 days a week
6. Stretch for 10 minutes when I wake up and before I go to sleep
7. Water and Juice only (Mon-Fri)
8. Healthier Eating
-3 deep fried foods a week
-At least 2 salads a week
-Fruit and veggies as snacks
9. 10 push ups for each act of wasted time (ex. Getting on Facebook when I should be doing something school related)
10. Pick 3 things that I like about myself each day, because positive thinking builds confidence.

This blog is just a progression chart for myself. I hope to update it weekly on my progress and hopefully I will start to feel better about myself and lifestyle sooner rather than later.

To the person who always inspires me <3

First in Awhile

I haven't been on here in way over a year. Since my last post I have changed my major from Sports Medicine to Elementary Education, and I couldn't be any more confident in my decision. Dance? Yes, I am minoring in dance! Also since my last post (you can tell how long that's been) I am dating and completely in love with my best friend, Jayme Clark. He has been there for me through thick and thin and I honestly don't know where I would be without him. Jayme has been a blessing in every way. He has been there for me, when some of my friends haven't.

I am still teaching dance every Friday and loving every minute of it. Recital is rapidly approaching, which is super exciting.

I'm not sure that I'm much of a blogger, but every now and then I get inspired to release my thoughts. This past week I decided to make a list to help my stay on track with my life. The list might sound stupid to most, but it's the little things I need help with the most. I also encourage anyone else who needs to have something in their life to guide them along, to write a brief list as well. Put it somewhere that it can be a daily reminder, and I am sure it will make a difference in your life. So for the rest of 2012 here it goes...

1. ONE soda a week. That's it, no exceptions.
2. Crufew: Sunday-Thursday 11pm
                  Friday & Saturday 1am
3. Be Patient-- slow to speak with kind thoughts
4. Read my Bible everyday
5. Not to procrastinate with my homework
6. A 1 hour nap everyday. No matter how busy, I have to find time for a brief nap so I can stay focused and not get burnt out.
7. Spend money only when needed. (I can still occasionally splurge on something, but I must think wisely before spending money on a want rather than a need)
8. Eat Healthier - Eating all three meals, with healthy snacks in between (This will be a challenge because I usually skip breakfast and rarely snack, which means I eat huge portions for lunch and dinner. Not good at all)
9. Work out every weekday
10. Keep myself organized, by keeping my car, and rooms (home and college) clean and neat.

Thanks for stopping by:) Hopefully something on my list inspires you as well!

Oh yeah, since last post, I've gotten the sweetest doggy ever! Bella<3

Today

Today has been another good day. I woke up around 11 or so, ate some of mom's leftover lasagna, and I went to dance class. In dance class we finished a movie that we started watching last class.
As you can see above, the movie was titled Billy Elliot. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it. It is about a boy who struggles with gender identity roles. He has been brought up by his father as a boxer and when the local dance studio is forced to share the same building, he falls in love with ballet dancing. As most typical fathers, he dad was very against the idea. Throughout the whole movie Billy is faced with many decisions about dance and his family. It was really an inspiring movie.

On our way back from dance class, me and Linnie stopped by Au Bon Pain. And got us some study snacks since we had to study for our math quiz at 5.

This was my tasty treat. It was some braided apple thingy. After I put it in the microwave for a few seconds it was very yummy!

This was Linnies treat. She said it was very yummy and the middle was her favorite part!

So after demolishing our study snacks... Linnie and I started studying. After about 45 minutes of figuring this math thing out we felt prepared enough to take our quiz.
The quiz was fairly easy and we both felt very confident in our scores :-)

We then and ate dinner at Salsaritas. Cara, one of our friends lost her room key, RU ID, Drivers License, Debit Card, ect. So while eating we tried to figure out a way to find her 'life'. We re-traced her steps and never found a trace of anything.

After coming back and changing clothes so I looked respectable enough, Linnie and I attended the Fall Dance Festival on campus. The dance department here has been working on a few routines since the beginning of the year and presented it to them the public. We watched four modern pieces, and then the ballet dancers did the snow scene from the Nutcracker.

This was sooo beautiful! It made me so envious of everyone on the stage, because that is my dream! It was such a great performance and I can't wait to watch the whole Nutcracker!

Great Day

Let me start off by saying today has been great! Besides the rain (which I am thankful for anyways) everything today has gone by very smoothly with no complaints. I woke up at 7:15 and got everything ready for the day and set my alarm for 7:47 so I could get up and walk to my 8am class. I went to bed last night before 12am so I wasn't as tired this morning as usual. While walking to my 8am I listened to my iPod and tweeted the whole way there. Once getting to my class I found out all we were doing was watching a movie so that was a great break from lecturing. My professor also informed me that we would not be having class on Friday. That was the start of my good mood. While walking from my 8am to my 9am class I was stopped by random strangers who had a whole table set up giving away free Sierra Mist. Even though I am not a fan of the soda, I decided I would take one. After all is was National Free Sample Day! After sitting through my Religion class, I had to walk with my professor to his office and interview him for another class of mine(University 100). We had very nice conversations and I learned a lot about him. He gave me some pretty good advice about being a first year college student and what I could do in order to succeed. I had 30 minutes to kill after the interview so I decided to go and get chicken mini's from Chick-fil-a in between classes. In my next class, University 100 (my favorite class) we talked about studying abroad which made my day even better! It is a BIG dream of mine to study abroad one day in the future! What was even better was the fact that I got out of class 20 minutes early! (my mood keeps getting better) I went back to the room and typed up my interview and sent it to my professor. After a quick 20 minute catnap, it was time to go to my last class of the day... COED 260 (waste of time). We did a 30 minute exercise in that class and was out 20 minutes early again! Can't you tell my mood gets better all the time? I came back to the room and fixed myself lunch while watching Seventh Heaven, and took a good hour nap. I then went to a one on one Bible study. We talked about being a disciple for the Lord and I got a lot out of its message. Dinner followed Bible study where I went to Wendy's with Tyler, Linnie, and Annie. GREAT TIME! We all hung out for a good while tonight and had so much fun together! It has been a great day and hopefully my week follows the same pattern!

Today

Today has over all been a great day. My roommate Linnie brought me breakfast in bed, I didn't have a lot of work for any of my classes, and the weather outside was perfect! After finishing our last class for the day, Linnie and I went outside and took a few pictures of each other. Seeing as how we both love taking pictures, it was kinda awkward to be the one being photographed. Hopefully we will get better at that.

I took this picture of Linnie and I think it's beautiful! Linnie is so naturally pretty and photogenic that it's really easy for her to take such great pictures. The weather was perfect to go outside and take snap shots here and there.

This is my favorite picture that Linnie took of me. I wasn't to fond of taking a picture on the bench but it turned out better than I had expected. I just wish I had some cute black shoes instead of flip flops.

I have to do a little reading for my 8am Cultural Anthropology class tomorrow, and a little bit of studying  I need to do for my Religion class as well. I have a very busy schedule tomorrow. I have an 8am and a 9am class, I then have to interview my religion professor. After the interview I have another class at 11. Lunch will follow that class, and then I will be off to my last class of the day at 1. Hopefully sometime after that I can find time to take a nap before I go to one on one bible study. I think my schedule should die down a little after than so I can have time to catch up on some work and send in an assignment to my professor.

But for now... I'm about to finish up some last minute work and try to get into bed early tonight.

As I Sit Here...

... I keep telling myself that it is about time for me to figure out what to do with my life. I have had several ideas in my head but this is such a tough decision, and if you know me... you know that I am not good at making decisions. I am currently enrolled into a class that is supposed to tell me what to do with my life (biggest waste of time EVER). Growing up I always wanted to be some type of teacher (dance or school). Seeing most school teachers advising me not to go into this profession I have been swayed not to, even though I haven't completely ruled out that option. No matter what I end up doing, I would really love to minor in dance. I have loved dance all my life and it's something I want to continue loving. My last semester in high school I interned with a Physical Therapist at Stanleytown Elementary School and I LOVED it! I also interned with my mother and LOVED it too. This is where my decision making comes into play. I cannot do both. My advisor also 'advised' me by saying a guidance counselor. I have no clue what to do and any advice that you all would be willing to give would help out a lot. Thanks.

First Post

Since this is my first blogging experience, I couldn't think of a better title for this post...First Post. I have decided to start blogging to help people stay better informed of my life, and it's a great stress reliever for me as well. I will warn those who read this that I have BAD grammar and English skills. But enough about that and now onto the blogging part.

This is my roommate, Linnie Daniel. She is wonderful and I love sharing this room with her. I was lucky enough to get served breakfast in bed this morning. She had an 8am class, and on her way back from class she brought me back a biscuit from Chick-fil-a! She is truly the best!

For those who do not know... This is me, Amber. I'm currently attending Radford University. I love it up here and I love most all of my classes. However, I do love going home a lot of weekends to see my family and friends... and to also teach dance! I love teaching dance... and I will teach is as long as I am able to.

As I was typing just moments ago, Linnie walked out of our bathroom with a sombrero on. She found this sucker just chillin in our bathroom somewhere. If you can read, you will notice it says Tequila on it. Someone next door must have left it in our bathroom last night. Our neighbors are awesome like that.

I guess that is it for this first blog. Thanks for reading!
